The Reward Center

The reward center of our brain is basically the reason why we feel the sensation of wanting and going out of your way to get it. In this case, it’s fast food. When we want food or something else desired to us, our brain sends signals through our body saying “we want this because it feels good”. We release a chemical in our body called “opioids”. This is what makes us react to certain needs, before we eat a desired meal these opioids go off in our body that makes us crave. It’s the same reaction drug addicts get when they want the drug and they have to have it. And that’s where” instant reward” and “long term cost” comes in. sometimes people crave things for the moment  that we know is going to turn out bad in the end. When this takes place, that don’t really care for what happens in the future they just care for the good feeling they’re having right now, right this instant. This is why sometimes it’s almost impossible to back away for certain cravings.
