MY IDEA OF WHAT EATING ANIMALS BY JOHNATHAN FOER IS ABOUT

Animals Have Feelings Too

According to the ideas that are conceptualized in the reading, it is evident that the corporate companies tend to mistreat animals and they are being exposed for doing so. Not only do they have a tendency of doing so, but they are also likely to degrade them in ways that not only causes harm to them physically but also mentally. We, human beings, may believe that animals are inferior to us because we are the dominant species and because they don’t speak English nor are they able to communicate with us. (Foer 341) Although this is the case, there are cases where one tries to make it seem as if they are not as harsh to the animals as they seem. For example, some people refer to animals that are sick and dying as “downers” as ways of not making it look bad for what the situation really is. But think about it. Do we humans, the dominant species, have a tendency of using our “superiority” over the animals as an incentive to mistreat them? If so, why do you think this happens? Will this behavior continue or will there eventually be a change in the way we interact with animals?

  1. I feel this blog post has a good concept. There are some big issues that you are writing about in your entry. I feel what could make it better is if you describe to the reader what book you are basing your arguement from. To someone who has not read what your reading in class it is not possible to understand the concepts. I think if you make revisions based on making stronger points this piece would be even better. I would suggest making bolder statements instead of giving the readers questions at the end. I have enjoyed reading all your blogs. I found them to be informative and descrpitive of the food industry and food as a whole. Thank you for allowing me to read your work.
